to improve literacy skills in one or more of the following areas of instruction:
Reading
Writing
Basic Math
Conversational English

Our next Basic Literacy tutor training will be conducted February 19 & 20, 2010 for volunteers interested in teaching adults how to read and write. Both sessions are mandatory. We are only training volunteers at this time that are able to tutor in Pulaski County and the Shawsville and Elliston area of Montgomery County. Once matched with a learner, tutors must provide weekly instruction, unless other arrangements have been made by either the student or the volunteer tutor. For this reason, it is highly recommended that the tutor lives in the community in which the student resides. Friday, February 19, 2010
