Upcoming Events and Volunteer Opportunities
One of the ways LVNRV supports and promotes literacy and literacy programs is by sponsoring or co-sponsoring events throughout the our area. We look forward to seeing you soon!

February Book Sale Announced!
The LVNRV 14th Annual Used Book Sale will be held February 16-19, 2012, inside the NRV Mall (in the area between JC Penny’s and Victoria’s Secret) .

Come out and shop through THOUSANDS of books, most for $1 or less! We replenish stock every day, so be sure to come back often.

All proceeds benefit our literacy efforts in the Valley.

We will also be holding a book drive at the mall on Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th (February). Book can be brought to the NRCC/Food Court Entrance on Friday from 8am until 7pm and Saturday 10am until 3pm.

The Sixth Annual Scrabble Tournament was held on October 18, 2011 at the German Club. 

A special thank you for all that were able to attend and make it another great success! We look forward to seeing you next year!

Thanks to the Community Foundation of the New River Valley and the North Family Fund for approving our grant request for $750 to purchase a new laptop for our ESL coordinator! It was desperately needed.

Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley participated in a piece on Illiteracy in Virginia for the local NPR station.
